Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at  misalignedcrafts@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

 Yep. Every single one.

Everything at Misaligned Crafts is made by an actual human, usually me, in my very real and chaotic craft space. I pour the resin, make the bags, crochet the ridiculous things, design the artwork, and generally make questionable decisions about what craft I should learn next.

That means handmade also means human-made. You may find a tiny variation, an imperfect edge, a slightly different swirl, or some other evidence that a machine didn't manufacture 10,000 identical copies of the thing you're holding.

And honestly? That's the point.

We live in a world increasingly filled with mass-produced sameness and things generated by algorithms. I'm interested in making things that still have evidence of the person who made them.

Perfect isn't really the goal here. Interesting, individual, and made with care are.

 Because perfect alignment is overrated.

My work is intentionally handmade, which means it isn't always perfectly symmetrical, perfectly smooth, or perfectly identical to the next piece. Resin can swirl differently. A crochet stitch might have a little personality. Two pieces made from the same materials can still come out looking completely different.

Those little differences aren't defects. They're part of the story of how the thing was made.

If you want factory-perfect, there are plenty of factories. If you want something made by a human, you're in the right place.

 Point to point.

When I list the size of my dice, measurements are taken from point to point, rather than from flat face to flat face.

This is especially important with larger dice and chonks, because different sellers and makers don't always measure dice the same way. If you're comparing my measurements to another maker's, make sure you're comparing the same measurement method. A 30mm chonk from point to point is closer to 24mm from flat face to flat face.

 Yes, usually!

I accept commissions for select custom projects, including custom dice, master dice, and some crochet items.

Custom work can include things like creating a particular design, adapting an existing idea, or making a master for another dice maker.

Commission availability can vary depending on what I'm currently working on, so if you have an idea rattling around in your brain, reach out and ask. The answer might be yes.

For master dice commissions, I'll work with you on the design, sizing, font, and other details needed to create a master suitable for your project.

Have a weird idea? Those are usually my favorite kind.

 Because they're handmade.

Even when I use the same resin, pigments, inclusions, molds, and techniques, resin has a mind of its own. Swirls move differently. Inclusions settle differently. Colors behave differently. Sometimes a piece comes out looking nothing like I expected, and sometimes it comes out better.

That means the exact thing you see is the thing you get.

Your dice aren't one of 50,000 identical copies. They're their own little creatures.

First: expect handmade dice. Really handmade dice.

Every set is poured, polished, inked, and finished by me, just me. That means your dice may have tiny variations in shape, color, inclusions, or finish. Even two sets made from the same materials will never be perfectly identical.

That's a feature, not a flaw.

You might notice a tiny imperfection, a subtle difference in a swirl, an inclusion that settled somewhere unexpected, or a finish that isn't quite factory-perfect.

I inspect my dice and do my best to make sure they're beautiful, functional, and worthy of your dice bag. If something has a significant cosmetic or functional issue, I'll tell you about it in the listing.

You're not buying something that came off an assembly line.

You're buying something that I made. And I probably stayed up really late and was listening to a hot garbage audiobook while I made it. I'm accepting recommendations.

Absolutely!

My dice are made to be rolled and enjoyed. They're not museum pieces that need to be handled with white gloves.

That said, resin is still a handmade material. Treat your dice with reasonable care, and please don't leave them baking in a hot car or use them as weapons, projectiles, dog toys, or implements of questionable experimentation. And for the love of all the gods, do not eat them.

They're dice. Let them roll. Don't make them fight for their lives.
